Welcome to the website which exhibits a portion of David's collection of images taken over 45 years.
David bought his first SLR, a Minolta SRT 101, in 1971 while in the Air Force and stationed in Karamürsel, Turkey. Local black and white processing was very poor while color transparencies, sent to a good facility, were of excellent quality. A year later he developed his first silver halide images at a wonderful Air Force darkroom in Misawa, Japan. Since then photography has been a life long avocation.
Most of David's images, aside from family photos, focus on nature. Photography has been a form of meditation; switch off thoughts of work, plan a trip, go on adventures which require full attention, breathe fresh outdoor air, concentrate all thoughts on a scene or subject and capture an image which conveys emotional feelings or details or surprises. David is in the camp of photographers who always have a camera, and tripod, at the ready.
